Cheesy Bacon Tamagoyaki

Cheesy bacon Tamagoyaki(Egg roll)
Tamagoyaki means fried egg and is a special egg roll that is loved by everyone in Japan. This is a traditional meal staple that is often used in bentobox but also as a sushi toppings. With a slightly sweet and moist texture, and the ability to combine numerous ingredients allows you to cook up your own style. Thus it’s no surprise that the simple item has become a favorite not only for school children but also adults alike. This recipe is a fusion of cultures since with the additional bacon and cheese added will brings forth the taste of Japan and North America. It is my dream to cook this in Japan one day!

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon Sugar
1/2 tablespoon Salt
1/2 Peppers
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
3 eggs
4 slices of bacon
2 teaspoons oil
1/2 tub of Philidelia cream cheese
4 slices of cheese of your choice
DIRECTIONS

Beat all salt, sugar, pepper and half of the cream cheese together, avoiding whisks since you don’t want it to get foamy.
Use medium to medium-low heat. Cook bacon slowly and turning often until cooked yet not crispy since it will crack easily
Brush the pan with oil
Slowly pour the egg mixture in the pan, spread it around until even
Cook the egg mixture until the layer is almost set, then carefully flip the egg to the opposite side until fully cooked
Spread a thin layer of the remaining cream cheese onto the egg surface
Then place bacon strips vertically lined up. While still warm place the 4 slices of cheese evenly ontop of the bacon
Carefully roll the egg up
Make sure the seam side is down, using a sharp knife, carefully cut the roll into smaller portions of your choice
Spread addtional peppers ontop if desired
