An absence of evidence
An absence of evidence is not evidence of an absence.
– Using and Understanding Mathematics a Quantitative Reasoning Approach 5’th Edition. P. 17
It is funny to read this statement in an academic book. This statement is saying that just because there is no evidence to support the existence of something, it does not mean that that something does not exist. This statement is true in relations to there being a God. People argue that there is no evidence for God; therefore, He does not exist. This, however, according to the above quote, is not a valid argument.
