When the devil . . .

When the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of your future.

– Fr. Satish Joseph

We all have flaws, and we hate to admit it. Sometimes, our flaws seem to be ever present, exploding in our face as if to say, “Ha! Ha! You are such a loser.” This is the devil’s way of discouraging us, trying to get us to give up. When we feel like giving up, when we think that we will never overcome our flaws, we must remind ourselves of the future that we have. Jesus does not ask us to be perfect; he asks us to love Him and to never give up. He knows we are  not perfect, that is why He sacrificed Himself on the cross for us. Because He loves us. Every time we stumble, let us remember that it is not the number of times we mess up, but the number of times we get back up and try again.
