“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going”

– Beverly Sills (Reader’s Digest)

This quote is absolutely applicable to me. I am often impatient for the things that I dream of to occur. I want to get married, start a family, complete four different majors in college, adopt children, buy a farm, take horseback riding lessons, adopt 4 Newfoundlands, etc. You get the picture. My impatience often leads to frustration and indecision as I struggle to decide which dream to pursue first. Often times I see the things I need to do (the steps towards my dreams) as hindering me from achieving my dream. This quote reminds me to take a step back, breath, and realize that if I were to go from the point in my life where I am now to achieving my dreams overnight, I will have missed out on all the wonderful opportunities and experiences that life has to offer.
